Last night I decided to do a quick review of one of my favorite beers. This is the beer I credit as my ‘a-ha!’ beer. I’m sure many of you have already tried it.
In case you haven’t: this beer is a great beer to try if you aren’t sure what it is about different beers that you like. This is a hoppy beer. It isn’t the hoppiest beer available, but is hoppy enough for you to get the idea. So if you like this beer, you will probably be more likely to enjoy beers that have names like India Pale Ale (IPA) and American Pale Ale (APA).
The beer pours burnt orange with a thick head that takes several minutes to settle and it leaves lots of lacing as it does. It has a wonderful citrus nose, with a bit of graininess mixed in. The beer is bitter, but not excessively so. It is easy to drink; full but not heavy. The finish has a bit of sweetness, but not from the yeast. It is more of a grainy sweetness. The is a really great beer if you are used to the big brewery lagers but would like to sample something different. It is my ‘always in the fridge’ beer.
