We had a great time at the beer tasting last night at Sycamore. Thanks for getting this tasting group together, Sanford!
Almost all of the beers were new to me which was a nice surprise. I also enjoyed getting to meet several local beer geeks that I hadn’t yet met. I knew that some home brewers had been invited but I had no idea what they would bring or how the home brew beer would be. The beer they brought was excellent!
For another write-up on the evening be sure to check out Jeff’s blog.

Thanks for posting the list. I can’t wait ’till next month. (I’m the guy in the Obama shirt, sitting next to Jeff.)
Nice of you to take down a list of all we sampled, it was hard to keep track with so many good beers.
I think the commercial beers that really stood out to me were the Stone brewing company offerings. I hadn’t tried them and thought they were pretty nice.
My reviews aren’t worth much after the 2nd or 3rd bottle around the table, but at least I got names.
The stone stuff was good. I think I had only tried 2 of the beers we had last night: Arrogant Bastard and DFH Raison D’Entre.
@comoprozac. I’m finally getting the names with the faces. Cool.
lots of fun getting to taste all of the beers and getting to hang out with a bunch of new (to me) people! cheers! Sanford
Had a great time at the first beer tasting and was pleasantly surprised at the wide selection of beers available to taste, particularly liked the Allagash Curieux Bourbon Aged Tripel and the Anderson Valley Tripel, as well as some of the homebrew offerings. Was also nice to meet some new people and share beer stories. Although lagers aren’t my favorite style, I’m still looking forward to the next tasting…
